Lake Bolsena is located in the middle of the three Provinces: Lazio, Tuscany and Umbria.
This special location offers our guests the opportunity to explore Etruscan and Roman culture. In Bolsena, Grotte di Castro, Vulci, Tarquina and Tuscania you have the possibility to visit many museums and archeological sites.
Civita di Bagnoregio
A trip, which we always recommend, is Civita di Bagnoregio also called “dying city”. The historical part of Bagnoregio can only be reached on foot via a bridge. After this effort you will be rewarded with a wonderful view into the valley of Calanchi. Because of this, Bagnoregio is one of the most beautiful villages in Italy. Civita di Bagnoregio is about 20 minutes from our campsite.
Toscana
Tuscany is considered a historical landscape and a significant cultural landscape. Pitigliano, Sorano and Sovana are among the most famous tufa towns of Etruscan origin. San Quirico d’Orcia offers the classic image of Tuscany: Cypresses in gentle hillsides. You should not miss the famous thermal baths of Saturnia (40 minutes from the campsite). With a day trip, the cities of Siena, Pisa, Arezzo and Florence are easily reached by car. An alternative would be the train ride from Orvieto. Another sight is the tarot garden of Niki de Saint Phalle. The tarot garden is located in southern Tuscany, in the small town of Calpalbio, in the province of Grosseto. The sculpture garden is an excursion destination for adults interested in art but also an exciting experience for children. After an exciting day in the tarot garden, you can enjoy the beautiful sunsets at the nearby sea.
